The 'hand cut ' potato chips were worse than fastfood fries and certainly not hand cut, the barramundi was buried under a mountain of tomatoes, and there was no coffee machine to enjoy a coffee to complete the evening. The menu was certainly not the same standard, several dishs on the menu were unavailable and the food provided was glorified pub food. wonderful, the bar tender tried his best, with half the ingredients for decent cocktails unavailable. The new owners have destroyed the old embiance, charm and friendly warmth you received as you entered from Virginia and Nick. We have been going to the OX for 25years, and have never had a bad experience. We hope they improve and get it together and actually have some respect for their patrons who are paying for an experience but basically can cook better themselves at home for minimal cost. We noticed some people we knew also dining and they all commented the same food was such a disappointment and they were there for a birthday special dinner out. Our friend ordered a wine of the given wine list was $35 - then was charged $44 as they said it was one not on the list, that's not what she ordered they supplemented it without telling her the cost. before the place shuts down, all meals tasteless, chicken scaloppini had no prosciutto or sage as advertised, lamb undercooked, tough and basically not edible not crusted as advertised, no roast potatoes as advertised but all mashed. Food looks nothing like the photos, what a disappointment. Was 9/10.This time ? Well probably one of the worst meals we all have experienced.
